...the numbers in sand point to the number of people worldwide who have been forcibly
displaced from the place they call home....when the project was started in August, 2018, the number
was over 68.5 million people....

....over the course of the exhibition, the numbers changed to reflect that 44,400 people each day
are forced to flee their homes because of conflict and persecution....
