The Ignorant Fairy takes its title from a 1956 painting by Rene Magritte, a painting that features a woman with long blonde hair. It is a contained video piece. The video segment can be seen playing at the bottom side of a crate while the sound for the piece can be heard coming from the black opening. The video segment consists of a view of a woman's legs with tufts of long blonde hair falling around her feet. The image is interrupted momentarily by the tufts of hair drifting slowly against a blue sky. Occasionally a bird flies by. The work suggests an episode from a fairy tale, where contained yet disjointed elements come together in the space of the viewer's imagination.
